Phil Seaman's first album, recorded in 2002, is almost unlistenable due to some horrendous singing, that is slurred and unintelligable on the most part. What this album does do is cast an early glimpse at the songwriting of Phil Seaman, which is at a very early stage. Many of the songs would later appear in more polished form on later albums.
Unfinished Masterpiece has the makings of a good pop song, and Rain became one of Phil Seaman's most loved tracks. Victorious features some haunting lyrics about a killer that one would think beyond a 16 year old. Lighters In The Sky is the key song on the album, and it is suprising that Seaman didn't use this song later in his career (or maybe he will do in the future), a beautiful pop ballad.
Faith appears in an early form here, as does The Final Song, and there is a rustic charm that appeals with Stain The Walkways Red.
However, in this form, everything except for Lighters In The Sky is unlistenable due to the dreadful singing, awful recording quality and very poor piano playing, and taken on the merits of how future songs appear on this album, it would suggest Phil Seaman had a mental retardation. Avoid.
1/10
